For some reason, today’s shot was hard. I picked a bunch of lovely old sunflowers from out in the yard. All sorts of dried out and picked apart by birds. And I tried a bunch of them but nothing worked. Desperate (perhaps an overstatement), I finally just picked up one of the old leaves that had fallen off the stalks as I had been jostling the flower heads. And there, in the dessicated folds, I found a tiny world of wonder. I frequently pretend that I am a small woodland creature (SWC is a thing, you can ask my wife or my friend Sara, who are both driven slightly mad by my little flights of miniscule imagination as we are out and about). Anyway, imagining myself as a mite, I could spend a lifetime in this little leaf. To see the image in much higher resolution, go to its Flickr page.
