This is theĀ Nuclear Mouse, a fly fishing pattern designed to look like a small struggling rodent, typically tied on a #6 fine-wire streamer hook. It slurps and gurgles and fidgets in the water and the bass just go nuts for it. And it floats like a cork, even after been mauled several times, so it can last through many a fish. It’s also really fun to tie and looks really pretty. Fishing will get going here in a month or so, and me and my fishing buddy, Dom, are pretty psyched to hit up our favorite seret spot, Little Round White Spruce Pleasant Moose Lake. Or maybe it’s pond. I can’t quite remember. The lighting for the setup is below.
