The last few days have been weird, so today I’m pleased to post something not weird. Our old farmhouse is a bit cubicled, if that’s a word, which is great for social distancing, but can feel a bit claustrophobic.

I had always wanted a pass-through window between our foyer and the living room. After sputtering back and forth about it for years, one day, I just went out to the garage in a fit of determination, rummaged around in the clutter that is my workbench until I found my hammer, walked confidently back into the house and right into the foyer and without hesitation took a massive swing at the old horsehair-plaster wall where I thought the pass-through window should be creating a resounding hole and after the dust cleared (there was a lot of dust) I said “Okay, now you can put in that window you’ve always wanted you timid little man.”

And it seemed a natural place for a nice little philodendron (Philodendron selloum).

Oh, and the carrots kept falling down because they were cold from the fridge and the tape didn’t stick well. Life Lesson: If you’re going to tape carrots to the wall, warm them up first.

And I’ve pasted in a close-up version below. Kinda artsy, methinks.
